MARIÑA REGUEIRO
She graduated in Philology at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. She specializes in lace fabric and has completed different programs at the national level: she holds a Diploma from the Seminario de Encajes a la Aguja y Bolillo of the Escuela de la Moncloa in Madrid, she studied guipure in Camariñas, blonde lace in Almagro, and at the international level she has studied several techniques such as Flanders lace in Belgium, Tonder in Denmark, Contemporary lace in the Czech Republic, Milanese and Mikhailov lace in England, Novomestska lace in Slovenia.
She receives a degree as lace Teacher from the Escuela Holandesa de Docentes de Encaje, of gold lace from the XVth century with Rosemary Shepard, (Textile curator of the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia). In 1983 she starts a residential summer where she has been teaching lace for 30 years. She teaches Historia y Clasificación de los Encajes in the Escola Taller at Camariñas and Remates at the Asociación Rendas. Since 1995 she teaches Teachers Training Courses. In 2005 she taught courses in Rauma (Finland) and in 2012 in Ithaca, New York. She has given lectures and hold exhibitions in Tolouse (France), and Vamberk (Czech Republic). She has written articles for publications like Oidfa (Europe), Lace (UK), Old Lacers (USA), Les Dentelliers du Sud-Ouest (France) and has published teaching materials and books like “Historia y Técnica” and “El Encaje de Mario” .
